Bowls of ingredients sit on a counter beside a mixer. Hands pour ingredients into the mixer bowl. On screen text. Sugar, 2 and 2 thirds cups. Butter, 1 and 1 half cups.
Hands pour small containers of dry ingredients into a large bowl of flour. The combined ingredients are added to the bowl of mixed butter and sugar. On screen text. Flour, 4 and 1 half cups. Baking powder, 2 tablespoons. Salt. 1 teaspoon.
A hand pours wet ingredients into a bowl of eggs. Later, the mixer mixes a batter. On screen text. 9 egg whites. Buttermilk, 2 cups. Vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon.
Hands pour the batter onto 2 pans. Then, the hands smooth out the batter on each pan using an off-set spatula. On screen text. Divide batter into two 9 by 13 pans lined with parchment paper.
The hands place the pans in an oven. Later, the hands use towels to remove the pans of baked cake from the oven. On screen text. bake at 350 degrees until toothpick comes out clean.
Gloved hands slice bananas on a cutting board then put the fruit into a bowl. Another bowl full of sliced strawberries sits to the side. Next, using the off-set spatula, the hands cover one of the cakes with frosting. On screen text. Slice bananas and strawberries for layering. Spread whipped cream on first layer.
The hands alternate layering the cake with fruit and more whipped cream. On screen text. Add banana slices. Add another layer of whipped cream. Add strawberry slices and a third layer of whipped cream.
The hands add the other layer of cake on top. The hands continue to frost the cake. On screen text. Add second layer of cake and cover in whipped cream.
Ruffles of whipped cream are piped onto the edges of the cake. The cake is topped with red sprinkles. A piece is cut from the cake and placed on a plate.
